Innovative Interiors Design Group was hired by Sandals Barbados from November 2014 through January 2015 and again in 2017 for Phase 2 of the project [staging 280 rooms]. I have worked with Denise Young-Browne of Innovative Interiors & Design Associates Inc. on two major projects in Barbados – the Parliament and National Heroes Museum in Bridgetown and more recently EXCHANGE – A Place of Mystery and Discovery – which is reaching completion.

Although Denise has a busy design practice of her own, she agreed to act as project coordinator on each of these projects – as I was based in the UK.  With her experience, she was able to make decisions on site where issues needed to be resolved quickly in order to avoid delays and adhere to the programme.

Our practice provided a fully detailed package of detailed construction drawings and Scope of Works for each project.

EXCHANGE in particular is an extremely complicated and extensive project and Denise was required to gain full understanding of the scope within a very short time – this she accomplished extremely well whilst under enormous pressure from the client team and contractors.

It is a pleasure to work with Denise, she is professional, measured, has a good communication skills, whilst being extremely creative and sensitive in terms of detail design and aesthetic judgement while selecting colours and materials.

I can say without hesitation that without Denise as my “right hand man” in Barbados, I feel sure that both projects would have faltered.  I would certainly welcome the chance to work with her again.
